Configure Widgets, Action Button & Siri to Open the Meal Camera in Nutrition Tracker
This guide explains how to set up the Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro / iPhone 16 series) and Siri voice commands so you can quickly open the Wellness Coach Meal Camera to log a meal with a single press or phrase.
The Wellness Coach iOS app supports:
✓ iPhone Action Button
Open the Meal Camera instantly with a single button press.
✓ Siri Voice Commands
Say “Log a meal in Wellness Coach” and jump directly into the meal-logging camera.
Both options provide a faster way to capture meals without navigating through the app manually.
Configure the Action Button to Open the Meal Camera
Step 1 – Open Settings
Go to:
Settings → Action Button

Step 2 – Select “Shortcut”
Scroll through the Action Button modes and choose:
Shortcut
Choose Shortcut → Wellness Coach
Tap:
Choose a Shortcut
Scroll to Wellness Coach
. 
Step 3 – Select “Log a Meal”
You will see a shortcut named:
Log a Meal
Tap to select it.
With a press of the Action Button, the Wellness Coach Meal Camera opens instantly so you can quickly capture and log your meal.

Configure Siri to Open the Meal Camera
You can also use Siri to trigger the same shortcut.
Step 1 – Open Shortcuts App
Go to:
Shortcuts → App Shortcuts → Wellness Coach
. 
Go to:
Shortcuts → App Shortcuts → Wellness Coach

Meal Camera (or Open Meal Camera)
Recommended Siri Phrases
- "Log a meal in Wellness Coach"
- "Track my meal in Wellness Coach"
- "Log my breakfast in Wellness Coach"
- "Log my lunch in Wellness Coach"
- "Log my lunch in Wellness Coach"
Now say:
“Hey Siri, Log a meal in Wellness Coach.”
Siri will open the app directly inside the Meal Camera.
Testing the Setup
✔ Test the Action Button: Press the Action Button → The Meal Camera should open immediately.
✔ Test Siri Say: "Hey Siri, Log a meal in Wellness Coach.” Siri should launch the app directly into the Meal Camera.
Troubleshooting
If the shortcut does not appear:

Make sure you installed the latest version of the Wellness Coach app.

Open the app at least once after installation.

Ensure internet connection.
If Siri says “I can’t do that”:

Re-add the Siri phrase from Shortcuts.

Restart your device.

Update to the latest iOS version.
If the Action Button doesn’t open the camera:

Re-select the shortcut in Action Button settings.

Restart the device.
Adding the Nutrition Widget on iPhone
Steps:

Unlock your iPhone.

Touch and hold anywhere on the Home Screen until the apps start to jiggle.

Tap the “+” button in the top-left corner.

In the search bar, type Wellness Coach.

Select Nutrition Widget from the widget list.

Tap Add Widget.

Drag the widget to your preferred location.

Tap Done to save.
