What is a Calorie-to-Step conversion challenge?

In the Wellness Coach app challenges, it's vital to keep a close eye on your progress in terms of steps and calories.

Metrics in Focus: Steps and Calories

  • Active vs. Resting Calories: The challenge exclusively considers Active calories, differentiating them from Resting calories. Active calories are the result of physical activities while Resting calories are naturally burned during rest or sleep.
  • Calories to Steps Conversion: For every active calorie expended, you earn 15 steps. For instance, if you've burned 40 active calories, this translates to 600 steps (40 calories x 15).

Reviewing Your Progress: Steps and Active Calories

  • Access the Wellness Coach app and navigate to your active challenge.
  • Click on the information icon (i) positioned at the top right corner of the challenge interface.
  • Locate and select "Review Steps" from the menu.
  • Here, you'll find a clear breakdown of your Active calories and the corresponding steps achieved, indicated in green. This offers a visual representation of your challenge progress.

Leaderboard Considerations:

The challenge leaderboard is designed to provide an accurate reflection of your achievements. It considers the higher count between your converted steps and actual steps. For instance, if you've recorded 11,330 actual steps on a particular day and have accumulated 497 active calories, the app will calculate your active calorie steps (497) by applying the conversion rate (15), resulting in 7,455 steps. In this case, the leaderboard will acknowledge your actual steps, which total 11,330.
