First things first, make sure your steps have synced from your Apple Watch to the Apple Health app.
Check App Permissions for Wellness Coach to access your Apple Health Daya:
- Open the Apple Health app.
- Tap on your profile icon nestled in the top right-hand corner.
- Head to Privacy and click on Apps and Services.
- Look for Wellness Coach and tap it and make sure those permissions are toggled on(All green).

How to Verify a Working Sync(Workouts from Fitness App to Apple Health)
As shown in the attached screenshots, a successful sync follows this path:
-
Start Workout: User records a session (Start workout and end the workout) in the Fitness App and end (e.g., a 1-minute Outdoor Run).
-
Summary Created: The Fitness app shows the "Workout Details" (Time, Distance, Calories).

-
The Handshake: The Fitness app sends this data to the Health App.
-
Health App Verification:
-
Open Health App > Summary.
-
Tap Workouts.
The workout should appear under "Highlights" or "Recent."
-

Troubleshooting Steps (When Sync Fails for steps or workouts)
If the workout is visible in Fitness App but NOT in Health App, follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Check "Read/Write" Permissions
This is the most common cause. If "Write" is off, the data never leaves the Fitness app.
-
Open the Health App.
-
Tap the Profile Icon (your initials) in the top right corner.
-
Scroll down to Privacy and tap Apps.

-
Select Fitness from the list.

-
Ensure "Allow Fitness to Write Data" is toggled ON for Workouts.
-
Tip: It is best to tap "Turn On All" to ensure steps and calories also sync.
-
Step 2: Refresh the Data Sources
Sometimes the "App Health" needs a nudge to see the new files.
-
Open the Health App.
-
Go to Browse > Activity > Workouts.
-
Scroll to the very bottom and tap Data Sources & Access.
-
Ensure Fitness is listed under "Data Sources."

Step 3: Force Sync via iCloud
If the data is stuck in the phone’s temporary memory:
-
Go to iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
-
Under "Apps Using iCloud," tap Show All.
-
Find Health and toggle it OFF, wait 10 seconds, and toggle it back ON.
